Jocelyn Tagg, Young Carers Service Manager
I am really happy to have started working with the Young Carers Service.
I have been involved in developing projects providing support for young people to fulfil their potential for many years. I am passionate about working with young people to help them get their needs met and their voices heard by those make decisions.
In my spare time I like to be outside growing vegetables, walking, and paddle boarding (only when it’s warm!)
Carol Carter, South Glos Senior Young Carers Development Officer
Hello, I’m Carol and I’ve been working at Carers Support Centre since 1997.
I support young carers and their families in South Glos offering one-to-one support and group activities.
In my spare time I enjoy the theatre, going to concerts and have a soft spot for musicals. I am also a carer for my Mum.
Ben Williams, Bristol Young Carers Key Worker
Hello! I’m Ben and I work in the Bristol Young Carers team. I have worked in a variety of settings over many years with young people, including a Teaching assistant, learning mentor, youth worker and ran my very own adventure playground! I love working with young people to help inspire and support them towards their goals!
When I’m not working, I enjoy playing football and watching Bristol Bears play rugby down Ashton Gate. I am also a massive fan of building Lego, eating pizza and going for long walks with my pug Woody.
Jade Howell, Bristol Young Carers Key Worker
I am a Keyworker for the Young Carers team at CSC. I have been working on and off with young people since I was 18 years old, from youth programmes to alternative education provisions. I love being connected to my community; for a healthy society we must support each other, that’s why it is important for me to be an active member within the community.
I volunteer on a programme to increase nature connectedness, which aims to improve participants’ wellbeing.
I love adventuring and exploring landscapes from woodlands to beaches. I am an avid paddleboarder and gardener and far from a musician but love to play; recently I started learning guitar and am also part of a Samba Reggae band.
Chris Chart, South Glos Young Carers Key Worker
Hello I’m Chris, I have been working for the Young Carers Team since 2017.
I started working with young carers in Bristol and in July 2019 moved to work with young carers in South Gloucestershire.
My background is in youth and community work and working with young people and families.
Outside of work I am a keen gardener and love being in the outdoors.
Carina Andrews, Young Carers Keyworker
I have joined the Young Carer Team!! I have been connected to the Carers Support Centre for a long time, both receiving support as a carer myself and as a volunteer. I have also worked with children, young people, and their families in many different settings from Youth Clubs to Family Support Work.
Along with this role, I run a project called Invisible Army aiming to shine a light on carers. Outside of work I love being creative and adventurous. I’ll give anything a go… well maybe not everything.
Vicki Houselander, Young Carers in Schools Development Worker
Hi, I’m Vicki, I’m really excited to be part of the Young Carers team and feel passionate about making a difference to young carers experience in education through the Young Carers in School Programme.
My background is in youth work and I have had great opportunities and experiences working with young people and their families including running a youth centre, supporting a youth board and working as a Family Support Worker.
Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with family and friends, reading and being outdoors.
Gaby Duffy, Young Carers Service Administrative Apprentice
Hello, my name is Gaby. I joined the Young Carers team in October 2020. I am currently completing Business & Administration apprenticeship. Within my job role, I support the Young Carers team with day to-day admin tasks. I have previously worked in primary schools, nurseries, a creche and with young people with learning difficulties.
I enjoy going on walks with my dog, cooking and baking!
Alice Walker-Shakespeare, Young Carers Sessional Worker
Hi, I’m Alice. I joined the Young Carers team in August 2020 as a Sessional Key Worker.
I have lots of experience working with young people, including young carers.
Outside of work I love baking for friends and family, getting lost in a book, and waiting for the sun to make an appearance so I can get away for a camping weekend!
Jyoti Aslam, Young Carers Sessional Worker
Hi, I’m Jyoti and have just joined Carers Support Centre as a sessional worker for South Glos. in August 2020.
My background is in Marketing and Psychology and I have worked with young people in various settings, including being a Teaching Assistant, Advocate for young people in care, Children’s Services Manager, and most recently I am due to start work as a Vulnerable Pupil Support Worker within a primary school in September.
Outside of work, I enjoy a busy family life and when possible, I love to read, cook, go for walks and generally try to keep fit! I am very much looking forward to supporting young carers and have am thrilled to become part of an amazing and passionate team!
