Carers Support Centre has made a short film all about caring, to mark Carers Rights Day. Featuring 4 local carers, this film aims to increase carer awareness and reach unidentified carers. In the film, Cheralyn, Tony, Fanuel and Amanda share how they started caring, how they realised what they were doing was caring, and how receiving support improved their lives.

Parkinson’s Carers Support Event Coming up in November

On 14 November, Sirona Care and Health is holding an event for people who live with someone with Parkinson’s about the services to carers offered at Carers Support Centre. This event is bookable by partners or family members who care for and live with someone with Parkinson’s.

Could you offer emotional support and companionship to a carer?

Many carers are isolated and find talking to someone who understands can really help.  You’d provide regular phone, email or Skype contact with a carer (30 mins every 2/4 weeks) to support them in their caring role.

Bristol Carers Open Meeting – September 20th

Do you care for a relative or friend in Bristol? If so, you are warmly invited to the next Bristol Carers Open meeting at the Vassall Centre.

Organised by the Carers Support Centre, these free events are the best place for carers to meet others in similar situations, hear about changes to services and support in Bristol and ask questions directly to health and social care service providers.
