Online poetry cafe for carers

Come along to our online poetry cafe for carers on Wednesday 21 October, at 2pm.

The cafe will be hosted by our friendly hospital liaison team and is open to all Bristol and South Gloucestershire carers – you don’t need to be caring for someone in hospital.

Please bring along a piece of writing which means something special to you –  it could be a poem, diary entry or postcard. You can either share this with the group or keep it private. There is no pressure to share if you would prefer not to.

Beth Calverley, Poet in Residence at UHBW NHS FT will open the cafe with some poems. Then each of us will take turns sharing our piece of writing and talking about them. Once we have all shared our pieces, Beth will leave us for about 10 minutes to write a poem about the cafe. In this time, Mindfulness meditation teacher (and our very own Counselling Coordinator) Wendy will take us through a relaxation exercise. Beth will end the event by reading out her poem.

Sign up for the poetry cafe via this Zoom link.
