With the autumn season upon us, it’s time to think about protecting yourself from flu.
Carers are eligible for a free flu vaccination from their GP practice. Each practice is organising flu clinics or appointments that carers can access during October and November.
A flu vaccination protects you and the person you care for from being very unwell with influenza. The vaccination is developed with recommendations from the World Health Organisation and helps protect adults and children from the risk of flu and its complications. Flu can be more severe in certain people, such as those aged 65 and over, and children and adults with an underlying health or a weakened immune system.
You can find out more about flu vaccines here.
If you are not sure if you are registered as a carer with your surgery, please contact them.
